4. Environmental Reminders
As a very highly rated Clean Marine Marina were quire our customers to be environmentally responsible:
- Talk to our office about discarding of used oil, fuel, respective filters, and batteries to ensure proper disposal.
- Only use environmentally approved products to clean your boat exterior. Our Boaters’ Store offers a wide selection of these.
- Dispose of garbage properly. As well as threatening wildlife, floating debris can also endanger boats by fouling propellers and clogging intake valves.
- Do not pump oily bilge water overboard. Have an oil absorbing bilge pad in your engine bay. We provide these free of charge in the Boaters’ Store.
- Do not create wake close to shore and in the marina canal. It contributes to erosion.
- Do not use green (toxic) antifreeze for winterizing purposes.
- Prevent particles and dust from entering the water. Do let us know if you are planning to carry out sanding and bottom work in the spring. Especially if your boat is raised in a covered slip. We can plan to locate your boat in a designated area on land.
- In case of a fuel or oil spill, contact marina staff immediately. If the need arises after hours, a spill kit is located at the boat ramp.
- For winter, we discourage the use of tarps as these mostly end up in landfill. We offer the service of shrink wrapping as this gets recycled. For safety, shrink wrapping is permitted to be carried out by marina staff only and for functionality and aesthetics, can only be used once.
